EA titles avaliable this week

Rob Rymond, 15 November 2005

Article summary (if available):
Three big titles avaliable in stores...

It's a busy week for game releases both here in the UK and over in America. So EA have informed us of 3 new releases this week shipping to stores from 17th November in the US.

The first is the 3rd expansion pack for The Sims 2, with The Sims 2 Holiday Edition (Christmas Edition for Europeans). It'll only be avaliable for a limited time and comes with the full Sims 2. Oh, and thats on PC.

It adds a total of 40 new holiday-themed items such as Christmas Trees and decorations, but sadly the pack is not avaliable on its own. However, EA have assured us we get $14.99 worth of bonus content for the same retail price as The Sims 2. Great!

The second title is Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Once again take the streets to become a hardcore street racer complete with pimped-up vehicles, much like the one Eddz drives (Me drive a car? Pah - Ed).

Its out on PS2, GameCube, Xbox, Nintendo DS, GBA, PSP, PC and Xbox 360. Phew. Theres more than 36 cars and you'll need to master the strategic cop evasion feature to make it to the top of the blacklist.

More than a decade a go, the Need for Speed franchise launched, so a special collectors edition is avaliable, entitled 'Black Edition'. Theres exclusive cars and races, as well as a bonus DVD with concept art, videos and behind the scenes footage. You can buy this special edition only on PS2, Xbox and PC.

It'll cost $49.99 for each version, except the 360 version at $59.99 (and I bet you Americans are complaining, but try living in Britain!).

Last but not least, is the arrival of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire, avaliable Friday in the UK to coincide with the launch of the film, or Thursday in America. Once again, take a deep breath as it'll be avaliable on Xbox, GameCube, PS2, Nintendo DS, GBA and PC.

The game is of course based on the 4th book, and theres co-operative play for two friends. Check out our review shortly!

So there you go, plenty to add to your weekly shopping list!
