How can you not love Sony this Holiday Season? |
|
|
 |
Well, it looks like Sony has another amazing Holiday Season [Christmas] planned. From games to the gadgets for the system itself, everything is looking great. Here are some top picks:
Resident Evil 4 MSRP: $39.99 (Regular), $49.99 (Limited)/£29.99 (Regular), £24.99(Limited. ?)
One of the NGC's best games has made its way onto Sony's system and it is great. The visuals are still astounding, the game is still wicked scary and with the new special features, like Ada Wong's new missions, how can you go wrong? If you have yet to put this one on your list, do it right now. You will love me for it.
Guitar Hero MSRP: $39.99 without guitar, $79.99 with guitar/Not available in the U.K.
Out of nowhere, Red Octane and Harmonix have crafted an amazing music game. Featuring the amazing guitar peripheral, this game plays great. And with classics from AC/DC, The Ramones, and, my favorite, Incubus, you will be rocking all night long. If you are a music fan, or just want to see what an amazingly innovative add-on can do, you owe it to yourself to check this one out.
God of War MSRP: $49.99/£32.99
With its great graphics, which are rather bloody, and its incredibly fun and intuative gameplay, this one is one of those games that everyone must experience. In the game you play Kratos whose quest is to find and kill a Greek god. Throughout the game, you encounter beasts such as Medusa, the Cyclops, Minotaurs and more. With some great hack-and-slash mechanics, this one should be right under Resident Evil 4 on your wish list.
Shadow of the Colossus MSRP: $39.99/£32.99
From the same team that brought the cult-hit Ico, comes Shadow of the Colossus. In the game you play as a boy who must fight over a dozen colossi in order to save your girlfriend. The gameplay is incredibly refined, and very innovative. Considering you are a small man fighting a near 100-story-tall rock demon, the gameplay better be something special. For fun with big enemies, look for Shadow of the Colossus under your tree.
Logitech Cordless Action Controller MSRP: $39.99/No price found
If you play games a lot, you should think of investing in a nice, long lasting wireless controller. The Logitech incarnation is one of the best available on any system. Featuring 2.4GHz technology for lag-free play, this one will hold up for hours of gaming abuse. If you have friends, pick them one up too, as they won't want to be stuck with a wired controller after playing with this one.
GT Driving Force Pro Force Feedback Wheel MSRP: $129.99/£99.99
So, it costs almost as much as a brand new PS2. But this wheel is probably nicer than the one in your car. Featuring full 900 degree steering, this is easily the single most realistic wheel available on the market. If you like racing games, especially GT4, for which this wheel was made, then you owe it to yourself to pick this one up. If you live in the U.K., check out the Gamester Race Pac Steering Wheel.
DDR Metal Dance Pad V 3.0 MSRP: $149.99/No Price Found
Every hardcore DDR freak has one thing in common (other than the fact that they can't dance in real life): they love metal dance pads. Whether in their own home, or showing off at the local cinema, dancers can't get enough of the aluminium. And this pad is one of the best, made with all metal on the base and hard acrylic plastic for the arrows. So, even if you aren't good at the game, at least your pad will look good.
Final Fantasy XI Hori Vana'diel Clock MSRP: $44.99/Not available in the U.K.
Love Final Fantasy XI? Want to know what time it is in Vana'diel at all times? Well, look no further than this clock made by Hori. It features both in-game and real life (well, maybe your real life is game life, but let's not get into that). Be sure to check this out when you can take a break from your level 48 Hume Warrior.
Resident Evil 4 Chainsaw Controller MSRP: $59.99/£49.99
So, RE4 is one of the best games of the year. And what better playing it with this signature red chainsaw. Using real cutting action, you will slice and dice those crazed villagers faster and more efficiently (actual results may vary). Just don't take this one out in public. |
