DS Pokemon games confirmed to be playable online

Eddz Walsh, 29 December 2005

Article summary (if available):
Catch Pocket Monsters, and catch your friends online.
Junichi Mysada of GAME FREAK, the developers of the handheld Pokémon RPG games, has revealed in his online diary that the new Pokémon games for Nintendo DS, Diamond and Pearl, will make use of the console’s unique features. He mentioned the usage of the microphone, dual screens and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Yes, that basically means Pokémon is confirmed to be going online.

He mentioned that players will be able to battle each other online, as well as chat via instant messages, possibly something similar to what is present in Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: Wild World.

Mr. Mysada is directing the two games, both of which should be ready for release this year, but he did mention the company still needs some more time to finish them off and make them as great as the previous instalments.

We’ll keep you updated!

Yeah, that's exactly what you said about Mario Kart, and what can I say? 9 - 0 is quite a win, eh? Smilie

Despite my better judgement I keep getting sucked back in. I'd say I'm gonna catch them all but all the new ones just confuse me. It's only a matter of time until not even hallucinagenic drugs can bring ideas for new Pokemon.
