Metal Gear Solid 3: The movie

Christopher Burnside, 15 December 2005

Article summary (if available):
On it's way to a Japan near you.

While game to movie adaptations are becoming frequent occurences these days, there are still a few big names out there which would cause quite a stir if they received movie makeovers; meet Metal Gear Solid 3: The Movie (not the official title, of course).

The three and a half hour long film is made up completely from Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence in game footage and will add brand new cutscenes, narrative and even a remastered soundtrack.

The premiere of the movie will take place in the Oribe Hall, Tokyo on December 22nd with Kojima himself appearing to do an introduction.

You can get your name in the hat to attend the showing via Konami's Japanese website located here.

No word on a European release date yet, but we'll keep you posted.

I doubt this'll get any further than a quietly-released DVD in Europe, but seeing something like this in a cinema would be like a dream.
