Splinter Cell 4 has a name

Lee Matthews, 14 December 2005

Article summary (if available):
Sam is back, but he's been reinvented!

Ubisoft today announced that the name of the fourth Splinter Cell will be Splinter Cell Double Agent. Ubisoft are hoping for a Spring 06 release on the Xbox, PS2, GameCube, PC and of course, the brand spanking new Xbox 360.

Ubisoft's Vice President of Marketing stated, “Ubisoft is excited to have re-imagined the Splinter Cell franchise by introducing Sam Fisher as a double agent, expanding the depth of his character. Gamers are going to find themselves immersed in entirely new territory that will allow Ubisoft to expand on its already captivating Splinter Cell franchise.”

With a new twist you can bet your bottom dollar that Splinter Cell Double Agent will be an instant success. Also, as many know, Splinter Cell on the Xbox really pushed the big black box to its limits in terms of graphical ability, so let’s hope the same can be said for the Xbox 360 version of the latest instalment.

Perhaps they've been pressured not to mention upcoming titles for PS3 until Sony makes announcements, much like Nintendo have done with Revo.

I'm sure this version will be shaken, not stirred.
